VaporShield MVP - Moisture Vapor Barrier
VaporShield MVP 3 Gallon Kit can be used as a single primer coat negative-side moisture vapor barrier suitable for various types of concrete. The low-viscosity formula promotes deeper concrete penetration for superior substrate adhesion and offers better sealing and moisture-blocking performance than standard epoxy flooring products. It is intended for use when high moisture levels are present in concrete, which may cause bond failure with moisture-sensitive flooring systems, including impervious and semi-pervious options such as epoxy, polyaspartic, polyurethane, carpet, vinyl tiles, tile, wood floors, and more.
VaporShield MVP meets or exceeds ASTM F3010 standards for two-component resin-based membrane-forming moisture mitigation systems for use under resilient floor coverings. It is VOC-compliant in all states and provinces across North America.

Concrete Preparation
Concrete must be structurally sound and free from curing agents, coatings, sealers, densifiers, or other bond breakers.
New Concrete:
- Must follow ACI 302.2R Guide for Concrete Slabs
- Water-cement ratio: 0.4 to 0.5, approximately 4,000 psi (28 MPa) strength
- A positive-side moisture barrier must meet ASTM E1745 standards
Existing Concrete:
- If contaminants interfere with bonding, speak with your Spartan Expert
- Contaminants may include silicates, hydrocarbons, calcium chlorides, and more
- Refer to ACI 201.2R Guide for Durable Concrete for further details
